Making the most of your family’s Kindermusik Experience

Plan to arrive about 5 minutes early for class. Arriving a little before class provides time for your child to settle in to the musical environment as he or she prepares to enjoy exploring instruments, reading books, or listening to music. We do request that toys, juice cups, and pacifiers be kept out of sight, and that snacks be finished prior to class. Be sure to dress comfortably.

During class, the most important thing you can do for your child is to be an active and patient role model. It is not uncommon for a child to attend several classes before feeling comfortable in class. Don’t be discouraged – what a child is absorbing in class is often evidenced in the comfort of the home environment rather than in a certain level of participation in class. The understanding and consistency of the parent or caregiver in class and at home are key to facilitation musical learning and growth.

By the way, we love for parents to visit with each other before and after class … but not during class time, please! When you are an active, focused, enthusiastic participant in the class activities, your child will model your actions and focus more fully, too.

You and your child will enormously benefit from the Kindermusik experience, especially if you make active use of your At Home Materials. Frequent reinforcement at home throughout the week makes all the difference in a child’s comfort and participation in the classroom.

Please don’t hesitate to contact us by email or phone if we can be of further help.

We look forward to having you and your child join us for a great semester of Kindermusik classes at MusicWorks 4 Kids!

Inclement Weather Policy – “Are we having class today?” MusicWorks 4 Kids will follow Central Bucks School District closings. You can also check on-line at www.musicworks4kids.com or call MusicWorks 4 Kids at 215.712.0388 for a more detailed message including partial day closings, etc. If class is missed due to inclement weather a make-up can be arranged in another age-appropriate class during that particular semester. If there is no other class offered, we will do our best to reschedule.

Refunds – Refunds are only available up to two weeks prior to the start of the first class. If there are extenuating circumstances requiring withdrawal from class, a tuition refund or credit voucher may be considered on an individual basis. The cost of materials and a $25 processing fee are non-refundable.

Cell Phones – please turn off all cell phones before entering the classroom. This is your time to focus on your child. The rest of the class will appreciate your thoughtfulness!

Registration – We will take new additions to a class during the entire semester. Each new student will be charged based on number of classes to be attended, plus material fees.

Makeup Class Policy – No refunds or discounts will be given for missed classes. In the event of teacher illness or inclement weather, a makeup class will be scheduled.

Illness – Any child who has had illness, fever or vomiting within 24 hours of class should not attend that day. We appreciate your help in minimizing the spread of infection.

Please leave all food and toys outside of the classroom. We appreciate your help!

Non-Enrolled Siblings – Due to the delicacy of the younger class settings (Village and Our Time), non-enrolled siblings may sit quietly along the side of the room with a non-distracting activity, as long as there is no disruption to the flow of class. If you are registered for Imagine That or Young Child, your other children are welcome to join us at the end of class for Sharing Time.

Photos – To respect the privacy of all children enrolled in class, it is appreciated that picture-taking is kept to a minimum.  Please confirm with the teacher, before class begins, that pictures are allowed.
